What is EDTA-2K powder?

It is a white crystalline powder, soluble in water and slightly soluble in alcohol. Its aqueous solution pH value is about 4.0-5.0 at 20℃.

Function&Application of EDTA-2K powder

Dipotassium ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA·2K-2H2O, molecular weight 404.47) binds to calcium ions in the blood to form chelates that prevent blood clotting. It is suitable for whole blood cell analysis, especially for platelet count, but because it affects platelet aggregation and the detection of clotting factors, it is not suitable for clotting image and platelet function examination.
