Deflazacort is The Third Generation Glucocorticoid

Deflazacort is the third generation glucocorticoid, which has anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and increased gluconeogenesis effects. The effect was 10 to 20 times that of prednisolone and 40 times that of hydrocortisone. This product has no mutagenic effect. The results of the study with C14 labeled product showed that the product was rapidly absorbed by gastrointestinal tract, the blood concentration reached the peak after 1 ~ 2h, and the active substance was formed after hydrolysis. The further metabolic process of the latter was similar to other glucocorticoids, and the active metabolite of the latter was 2h, which was mainly distributed in kidney and hematopoietic system and other tissues in rats.

Indications FOR PRIMARY OR SECONDARY ADRENAL HYPOFUNCTION, RHEUMATISM, COLLAGENOUS DISEASE, HEMATOPOIETIC SYSTEM DISEASE, ULCERATIVE COLITIS, IDIOPATHIC NEPHROTIC SYNDROME, HEMATOPOIETIC SYSTEM MALIGNANCY, ALLERGIC AND ALLERGIC DISEASES, AND treatment OF FULMINANT OR DISSEMINATED TUBERCULOSIS WITH ANTI-TUBERCULOUS DRUGS. The adult dose is generally po, 6-90 mg/d, and the specific dose is determined according to the condition. Long-term use of adverse reactions can affect the normal growth of children, induce peptic ulcer perforation, can cause euphoria, depression, insomnia and other mental symptoms. Sudden discontinuation of the drug after long-term use can cause secondary adrenal insufficiency of the discontinuation reaction, and should be gradually reduced until discontinuation.
