What is Valganciclovir hydrochloride

Valganciclovir, a synthetic 2-deoxyguanosine analog, is a precursor of the antiviral drug ganciclovir, which can greatly reduce the toxicity of ganciclovir.It has the same pharmacodynamic characteristics as ganciclovir.

Application&Function of Valganciclovir hydrochloride

1.Adverse reactions such as neutropenia and anemia are increased when zidovudine, ergophenolate or azathioprine are used in combination with this product.
2.Nephrotoxic drugs impair renal function, slow the elimination of ganciclovir in vivo, increase drug accumulation, and increase toxicity.
3.Prosulfonamide and other renal excretion agents reduce the clearance of ganciclovir and also lead to increased toxicity.
4.Combination with other cytotoxic drugs increases the risk of myelosuppression, gastrointestinal and cutaneous adverse reactions and should not be used in combination.
5.Combination with imipenem/cilastatin increases the likelihood of seizures
